Her love of space, colour, and texture serves her well in the design and renovation of internal spaces, including structural alterations, furnishings, fixtures and fittings, lighting and colour schemes. The 5-star Turbine Boutique Hotel and Spa is situated on Thesen Islands in Knysna.

Intuitive architecture pays homage to the old power station it once was. Accommodation comprises 26 rooms – luxury and standard rooms, a honeymoon suite and two expansive self-contained suites adjacent to the hotel. There are excellent conference facilities for business visitors – two conference rooms with free Wi-Fi, full audio-visual facilities and tailored catering packages.

The recent installation of a generator ensures that load shedding outages are a thing of the past. Group bookings are welcome for events, weddings and small conferences. The Turbine’s 90-seater Island Café Restaurant, with inside tables nestled between the original turbines and its outside tables overlooking either the canal or the pool deck offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, and also monthly food and wine pairings. The Gastro Pub offers classic pub meals with a delicious turbine twist, and live music every Friday evening.

Tsitsikamma Village Inn, located in the village of Storms River on the beautiful Garden Route, offers a unique form of accommodation.  Most of our rooms are situated around a typical Village green. These buildings represent many of the different building styles that were to be found in the Cape Colony during the 1800s.

The Oude Martha Restaurant serves hearty and delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Other popular on-site restaurants include the characterful Hunter’s Pub and the informal Cafe Bacchus. Next door to the hotel, is the Marilyn’s 60s Diner, where you’ll enjoy a trip down memory lane with the vintage motorcycles, cars, memorabilia and a typical diner menu.  Enjoy an Ale or Weiss in our microbrewery which also offers a number of other South African craft beers.

Our hotel is a great base from which to explore the natural attractions and adventure options of the region and there are many ways to do this from hiking trails, mountain biking and horse rides to tree-top canopy tours and bungee jumping. Between excursions, guests are welcome to relax around the sparkling swimming pool or entertain themselves in the games room.
