La Plume is a Boutique Guest House with Spa on a working ostrich, alfalfa, and cattle farm offering spectacular views of the Swartberg Mountains and the Olifants River Valley. The English Breakfast buffet is the perfect start to a busy day with fresh fruit platters, a bread and cereal selection, cold meats and cheeses, as well as hot breakfast with special requests made to order. The interior and spatial design of La Plume Boutique Guest House is one of Karin’s passions. Her love of space, colour, and texture serves her well in the design and renovation of internal spaces, including structural alterations, furnishings, fixtures and fittings, lighting and colour schemes. Her eye for detail and enchanting antiques adds the finishing touches to the individually furnished rooms and suites as well as the communal areas, creating an atmosphere that is reminiscent of yesteryear.

Join Bartel, Karin’s husband, for early morning coffee in the gazebo before an informative, pre-arranged tour of this working ostrich, alfalfa and cattle farm. Learn about the day to day activities in the life of a full-time farmer, as well as the giant birds and the trials and tribulations of farming with them from one of the few experts on the ostrich industry.
